For Wilo Intec, the sustainable development must be translated into a general policy which aims to preserve the future, without, however "punishing" today's people in their personal and professional life.

The social, economic and environmental mainstays of the sustainable development are initially for the benefit of mankind today, as well as tomorrow.

 

Why such a commitment from Wilo Intec?

We are convinced more than ever that it is our duty to engage in sustainable development in order to leave a habitable planet behind us.

 

What are our concrete actions?

Concrete actions were and continue being developed in 3 fields:

 

✓ Social: "Best place to work in" and "co-existing":

- 60 green bicycles with their equipment (rucksack, helmet) are lent daily to our employees. This initiative is linked to an environmental aspect, allowing the decrease of CO² emissions

- since March 2009, our employees have the possibility to buy an organic bag with fresh vegetables and fruits at a very competitive price. This bio bag is delivered in the factory once per week. A continuous partnership with an albinian company is now set up and aims at promoting the local business

- carpooling network for the employees has been developed and is encouraged

- donation to an association in China called "Bethel" for Chinese orphans who are blind or visually impaired

 

✓ Environment:

- reduction in the paper consumption (-50% the last 3 years)

- decrease in water consumption (-15% the last 3 years)

- proactive action to obtain a leading position in renewable energy markets (heat pumps, solar systems)

- market availability of new high efficiency product: electrical consumption of the Stratos TEC divided by 2!

 

✓ Economy:

- maintenance of a profitable growth

- promotion of local business

- investment in dedicated laboratory benches for renewable energies

- sponsorship development of local associations

 

Further to the successful "Sustainable Development Day" held on June 5th 2009, we're already planning the next one for June 4th 2010 to be held in our plant.
