Henceforth, Wilo Intec puts at the disposal of its workers 60 bikes. On Friday noon, volunteers an motivated employees took up their green cycles with their equipment, namely a rucksack. Thus, workers but also executives, living in Aubigny-sur-Nère, chose to make the route house-company for bicycle. This initiative of the Albinian company is linked to an environmental action of sustainable development, allowing the decrease of CO2 emissions, also corresponding to 1000 saved trees !

 

This reception was not a fate as, on Friday, Wilo Intec dedicated the day to sustainable development. The day was animated by Gilbert Faul, director of the factory, surrounded with his o-workers, in the presence of industrial authorities and of people in charge of associations as well as Chritiane Tixier, local councillor. Before the delivery of the bikes, Gilbert Faul has been anxious to explain the conception of the company in this domain by asserting : "the group is convinced that the future is based on the balance between realization of profits and sustainable development. For this reason, we consider that it is of our duty to act in a socio-economic way, but also with responsible acts on the environment". Then the director explained that Wilo Intec works on an important social sector with the setting-up of the "Kaizen philosophy" (continuous improvement) since 10 years. On the economic side, the company knows a beautiful growth : "5 years ago, we hardly made profits, today we are a leading company with a comfortable profitability".

Regarding Wilo's commitment in the environmental subject, it began in 2004 : "nowadays, we count in CO2 and in trees". The director insisted on the fact that three pillars "social, economic and environmental are held and that the actions complement each other", as the example of the bikes. "For the economic part, as jobs increase, we should have enlarged the car park, it avoided the cost of such a construction. On the environmental side, we avoid there buying not recyclable materials".

The president also explained his vision of the sustainable development through eight subjects (weel-being, protection of the resources, attractiveness of the offer, profitable growth, improvement and to exist together) demonstrating that sustainable development and progress are inseparable.

 

 

At the conclusion of the presentation, all the persons were invited to visit the factory but also the new restaurant with terrace able to welcome up to 100 people.

Wilo Intec which received twice, in 2005 and 2006, the national prize of quality, is an example in sustainable development and commits itself to draw up a report of its actions in this field each year.

The company has already fixed its next year meeting  on June 2nd, 2008.
